waking on the farm

good book under a red lamp

sunrise on cut trees

haiku 88

early one Sunday

seeded baguette with butter

an August sunrise

out of the nothing/

came this sunrise and my eyes/

match made in Heaven

royal fabric sky/

fold upon fold of purple/

robes for evergreens

me and my black dog/

window seat for the sunrise/

one of us scratches

jalapeƱo scone/

hazy Northwest spring sunrise/

sixteen-ounce coffee

buds on the birch tree/

beyond: sun breaking through clouds/

beyond: the east, day

bright the Eastern sun/

peering above the tree line/

right into my eyes

Eastern horizon/

pines piercing a slate grey sky/

morning soundtrack: birds

streaks of Eastern sun/

lighting up my coffee cup/

heralds of great hope
