one poem every day

the haiku man

Tag: heat

the furnace kicks in/

rooibos tea in a blue mug/

raindrops pelt the deck

one hundred degrees/

like, the world, not the oven/

open-air furnace

morning without sun/

refreshing breeze through pine trees/

cool after the blaze

cruising the cool mall/

while the sun cooks the skylights/

bakes the wax tiles

heat wave commences/

every store sold out of fans/

ice cream for breakfast

two pieces of toast/

floorboards warmed by furnaced air/

the call of the couch
