one poem every day

the haiku man

Category: Uncategorized

outside this window/

purple fruit on a green tree/

sun on high branches

a moment of night/

in the middle of the day/

moon blots out the sun

listen to counsel/

be open to instruction/

you may become wise

Friday, mid August/

grey clouds struggling with the sun/

dark wrestles with light

remember one thing/

men are men are men are men/

live life color blind

choose your words with care/

what you say can spark action/

for better or worse

these days demand guts/

be love in the face of hate/

be an oasis

mid-August, but cool/

it’s Northwest sweatshirt weather/

clouds, heavy with rain

nine and the house sleeps/

five pound dog warm in my lap/

three cups of coffee

hot at 8 a.m./

a time to practice stillness/

wipe down the box fan
